Untimed - Andy Gavin This book was received through Goodreads First Reads, this one to be particular.
Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China - Jung Chang Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China by Jung Chang is a memoir telling the story of three generations in twentieth-century China.

Wild Swans offers an insider's perspective of the big changes in China from ca. 1900-1980. Especially as I'm an adopted child from China. The writing might not be the best, but the content is a shining star. There's something in the content that I as a reader connected with and it left a great impression upon me.
Labyrinth (Languedoc Trilogy, #1) - Kate Mosse Labyrinth by Kate Mosse is the first book in the Languedoc trilogy. The novel is an archaeological mystery novel, featuring dual-time and story-lines. This is a reread, as it was previously read back in 2007.

Labyrinth is engrossing novel with its well-convincingly narration of the historical factions of the story, which outweighs its flat narration of the characters.

Starers - Nathan Robinson Starers by Nathan Robinson was received from the author in exchange for an honest review. This however does not affect my review by any means.

Starers was a pleasant read, something different, but with a let down in a form of an anticlimax-ending. There's also unanswered question left when I'm done reading the book, but they will hopefully be answered in the sequel Followers.

Shadows All Around Her

Shadows All Around Her - Catherine Mulvany Reread, as I read it before the goodreads days.
A Monster Calls - Patrick Ness, Jim Kay A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness is based upon an original idea by Siobhan Dowd, who was at that point struggling with her terminal cancer. Due her illness she did unfortunately, not have the time to write the story. It was therefore given to Ness who in turn wrote something rare, which is accompanied by the gorgeous illustrations by Jim Kay.

A Monster Calls is truly a heartfelt, beautiful, emotional and impressive read. Accompanied by beautiful illustration it becomes a treasure! As Philip Pullman said "compelling...powerful and impressive".
Prodigy - Marie Lu Prodigy is the second book in the Legend trilogy by Marie Lu. I have previously reviewed the first book in the trilogy which is also called Legend, at my blog, you can read it here Legend (Legend, #1) by Marie Lu.

Prodigy follows the promising debut from Lu, and delivers an impeccable engaging novel, weaving an even more complex world and plot than anticipated. Providing materials for sky-high expectation for the final book in the Legend trilogy, Champion.
Legend - Marie Lu Legend by Marie Lu is the first book in a dystopian book trilogy which is also titled Legend. This is Lu's debut novel, which is very promising.

Legend is at some points predictable, but it is also very thrilling and engaging to read. I was definitely absorbed into the plot and the action. The threads that are laid out in Legend are promising something bigger in scale for the sequel.
Viral Nation - Shaunta Grimes Viral Nation by Shaunta Grimes was received through Goodreads First Reads, this one to be specific, and is an advanced reader copy. This however does not affect my review by any means.

Viral Nation could easily be a messy read, but it manage to weave together the elements, like dystopia, virus and time travel, into a fantastical and intriguing dystopian read. The premise and the characters was executed well with a complexity I hope will be explored more in depth in the sequel, which I’m definitely on the ride for.
The Blood Gospel - Rebecca Cantrell, James Rollins The Blood Gospel by James Rollins and Rebecca Cantrell is the first book in The Order of Sanguines series. The book was received through Goodreads First Reads, this one to be specific. This do not affect my review by any means.

The Blood Gospel is a nice addition to the collection of books that are a mix of mystery and thrillers. Well-planned plot, that is only revealing its first layer.
The Age of Miracles - Karen Thompson Walker The Age of Miracles by Karen Thompson Walker is her debut novel.

Read my full and more in depth review at my blog, V for Vilde.

The Age of Miracles lacks excitement and engaging content. In my opinion it is the narration that was the focus, rather than the story in my opinion, and that cannot carry a novel alone.

Bak klostermurene

Bak klostermurene - Núria Esponellà Announced as the best historical novel in Spain, which is something I will have to disagree on. Bak klostermurene or Rere els murs have a story that I found a bit interesting, which become the only saving point to the book. If the story was worse I would have given it the one star rating and simply disliked the book. So simply said: this is a very dull read, and I struggled throughout the book to keep my interest in it.
Daughter of Smoke & Bone - Laini Taylor Rewriting review, to come up on a later occasion.
Poison Heart - S.B. Hayes Poison Heart is an intriguing and thrilling psychological novel. It's a very compelling story, filled with a nice balance of tension and suspense, which certainly grabs your attention. The plot in my opinion is a good old classic, but Poison Heart is written in a way so you can't always predict what the next thing will be.

In addition I found two of the characters' name to throw my mind around a bit - Merlin and Genevieve - which made me think that this was going to remake of the Arthurian legend, or something similar to them. But Poison Heart is nowhere close to being alike the Arthurian legend.

I found Poison Heart to be a joy to read, and I would definitely recommend this to others!

Nymånenatt (Solstorm, #2)

Nymånenatt - May Grethe Lerum The sequel to Himmelslør doesn't slow down that much in terms of the pacing of the story, and remains a page turner. I still find the book (or book series) to be quite mediocre, but it's still an easy read.
